In recognition of National Nurse Practitioner’s (NP) Week, November 9-15, we’re honored to celebrate Sprinter Health’s workforce of Nurse Practitioners — which has grown nearly tenfold this year — who are making a difference in the lives of vulnerable patients across the country.
NP week is held annually to recognize the exceptional health care providers who are impacting and improving care experiences for those they serve. With more than 431,000 licensed NPs across the country, it’s more important than ever to commend the work that they do: serving as trusted voices and delivering proven care in their communities.
At Sprinter, we’re dedicated to empowering our NPs to deliver a seamless virtual care experience to patients. Whether it’s guiding a wellness visit, conducting a medication review, or supporting a Sprinter who encounters an urgent issue in the home, Sprinter’s NPs are ensuring patients get the right care at the right time, allowing them to practice top of license.
Hear from a few of our amazing NPs about their experiences below:

Anna Kent, a Family Nurse Practitioner, based out of central Ohio (also licensed and serving Sprinter Health in: CA, CT, KY, SC, VA), was the first NP hired for Sprinter in April of last year. She’s no stranger to performing health risk assessments, but finds Sprinter’s approach to be more uniquely supportive, with in-home phlebotomists or technicians — Sprinters — present to address care gaps and help set the patient up for the NP video call. Since starting with Sprinter, she’s expanded her number of state licenses so that she can have more impact across the country.
“When I’m not assisting with onboarding and training new NPs, I will see 6–8 patients/day. It is a mix between annual wellness visits (for Medicaid and Medicare members), healthy habit checkups for children (addressing BMI percentile, nutrition and physical activity habits with parents), and “Care of Older Adult” visits, which focus more on medication review, functional, and social assessments. No two days are the same! Just this morning, I had a few complex visits — one with a high-risk non-healing wound, and I coordinated follow up with his vascular specialist. Another wellness visit turned into an EMS call due to an elevated blood pressure and heart rate. I find meaning in every patient interaction — whether it is in a small way, like providing education on the “why” behind preventive care or medication adherence, or addressing more critical concerns and closing the gap with their PCP.”

Katie Swanson, a Nurse Practitioner based in Illinois, was initially drawn to Sprinter’s innovative care delivery model. Being part of a team that is transforming how patients access healthcare has given her the opportunity to connect with patients, provide education, and ensure their health needs are being met in a comfortable and personalized setting.
“The virtual and accessible care model at Sprinter makes a huge difference, especially for patients who may have mobility challenges or limited access to traditional healthcare settings. It allows them to receive high-quality care in the comfort of their homes, often leading to better engagement and outcomes. The idea of combining virtual provider expertise with in-home visits by skilled Sprinters felt like the perfect blend of technology and personal connection. I loved the mission of making healthcare more accessible, convenient, and compassionate.”

Euginia Agbatekwe, a Nurse Practitioner based in Dallas, TX, was originally intrigued by Sprinter’s ability to bridge medicine and technology in a way that makes preventive care more personal and accessible. Since joining the team seven months ago, she’s realized that isn’t Sprinter’s only unique quality.
“The positive and uplifting culture stands out at Sprinter and makes it an amazing place to work. Everyone brings unique experience and energy, is supportive, and is genuinely passionate about patient care — which makes our team stronger and more innovative. Sprinter not only cares for patients, it cares for its employees too. That kind of work environment is rare and invaluable.”

Liz Feucht, the Lead Virtual Nurse Practitioner in Ohio is excited about the growth that she’s seen in Sprinter. As one of the lead NPs, she’s focused on fostering a culture of openness and support, where the team feels comfortable reaching out at any time.
“We’re one team, and communication is key! Consistent communication between the NP and Sprinter teams keeps things running smoothly and ensures the best patient experience. I wouldn’t say there’s just one standout moment — for me, it’s all about the bigger picture and watching the difference Sprinter makes for our patients every day.”

Mandy Walters, Lead Nurse Practitioner based in Lexington, Kentucky, believes that open communication is the heart of her work and collaboration with fellow Sprinters. That mutual respect and teamwork has made her really value her work at Sprinter.
“Some of my most memorable experiences have come from forming deep connections with patients. Those moments when you truly connect and make a difference in someone’s life are incredibly rewarding. Virtual care allows us to educate patients about preventive health in a way that is accessible and convenient. Many individuals do not receive this type of guidance if they lack regular primary care visits. By explaining the importance of preventive health in an approachable manner, we empower patients to take control of their well-being.”

Taylor Sandmann, an Advance Practice Nurse Practitioner based in Cincinnati, Ohio, finds patients to be extremely thankful for the assistance of Sprinters and NPs, particularly those in rural areas that aren’t being closely monitored by a PCP.
“We fill gaps and collaborate with physicians directly when escalations are present. We have a direct role in collaborating with other physicians to ensure members are getting the urgent care they need. ”
